Very prepared and organized, chose topics to review in section well. Helpful and accessible outside of class.
John was a very strong TA for this course. He was very accessible and open to meet with students. His email response time was typically within the hour (!), and he was extraordinarily generous with his time. He provided useful perspective on questions about the literature and potential research topics.
John is a great section leader. His presentations are wonderfully clear and thoughtful, and he's great at helping us understand the intuition behind complicated models. It was always easy to follow. And he made us feel comfortable interjecting with questions.
I really appreciated John's insights this semester. He was an extremely valuable resource as I prepared my research proposal. Overall, he was a phenomenal teaching fellow.
Thank you for being a great TF!
John Tebes was very dedicated to give us a good learning experience, he prepared detailed work about the mentioned papers and gave helpful feedback on the research report and paper.
John was such a good TF! I really enjoyed the sections and I feel like they really helped me get a good grasp of the material. I think he was fighting an uphill battle in terms of getting many people to participate, but he really tried each time. His help on assignments outside of class was also super helpful

John had really excellent feedback on the project proposals. I also thought he did a great job distilling down some of the more challenging models in sections, and getting us to explain the model predictions ourselves to cement understanding.
Was very accessible outside of class and helpful for getting feedback about the paper requirement. Section was helpful for learning about papers more in–depth. He did a good job of walking through papers and providing opportunities for participation for section attendees. His section slides were very good review material and nicely organized.
As econ TFs go, John was one of the best. He had a rough start, reading models from slides, but loosened up as the semester wore on and increasingly facilitated a more collaborative environment. He was very knowledgeable about the topic and usually brought good ideas and critical inquiry to section. I really enjoyed the optional section where we shared our research ideas. Very supportive while simultaneously critical of mediocre ideas. I'd happily attend his section for another class.
John was great. Super helpful and gives great advice for research. The only thing that could have been better was the canvas organization. Saving the lectures as files instead of as assignments would be helpful.

John Tebes is a star and likely the only reason I will pass this class. He was willing to spend multiple hours with me, outside of both class and his scheduled office hours, to help me through my econ research paper. He was accessible through email and in person.
John was very helpful in developing research ideas - he gave thoughtful feedback and was very accessible.
Very helpful and into the topic
Nice and supportive.
